Monday's ratings followed their usual summer pattern, with CBS taking the overall title and FOX leading the way among the younger viewers advertisers covet.
CBS averaged a 5.0 rating/9 share in households for the night, beating FOX's 4.1/7 for the top spot. NBC claimed third with a 3.5/6. ABC, 3.3/6, was not far behind in fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.3/2.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX's 2.9 rating beat all comers. CBS finished second at 2.2, followed by NBC, 1.8, and ABC, 1.6. The CW couldn't crack the 1.0 barrier.
A "Wife Swap" repeat, 4.0/7, won the 8 p.m. hour for ABC, with CBS' "How I Met Your Mother," 3.8/7, and "Old Christine," 3.9/7, close behind (the two networks finished in a virtual tie in total viewers). A "Hell's Kitchen" repeat on FOX was third at 2.8/5. NBC repeated last week's "Age of Love" to take fourth. The CW averaged 1.4/2 with "Everybody Hates Chris" and "All of Us."
FOX took the lead at 9 p.m. with the penultimate episode of "Hell's Kitchen," 5.4/9. CBS was a close second with "Two and a Half Men," 6.0/10, and "Rules of Engagement," 4.5/7. A new "Age of Love" scored a 3.6/6 for NBC. ABC's special "Six Degrees of Martina McBride" drew a 3.0/5. The CW went with "Girlfriends" and "The Game."
At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" posted a 6.0/11 to win the hour for CBS. "Dateline" earned a 4.3/8 for NBC, and ABC's Martina McBride special finished with a 2.9/5.
