Guys, first of all why do you debate about how many are the 'Commercials and ADs' on Philippine TV?
Companies decide were to advertise their products. No doubt, GMA-7 has more commercials than the Lopez-led TV station, ABS-CBN but it doesn't mean that a network that has more commercials than its competitor's it is the #1 when it comes to the rating survey. Here in the U.S., there are 5 gigantic TV networks (US Stations Only): CBS, ABC, FOX, The CW and NBC. CBS maybe the hot rod on the ratings, but ABC gets more Ads than any other network and also count FOX (most of the time ABC has more Ads than FOX). To think ABC is the sister company of Walt Disney.
Back to the Philippines now. The ratings survey doesn't reflect 100% to the advertisers. The AGB Nielsen TAM helps advertisers but it depends on the "decisions" they (advertisers) make. Remember for every company they can load commercials on a TV station when ever they want to and when ever they are comfortable and they can also pull out ads and TV networks has no power over that (but in some cases if the TV network has a sister company and the same CEO in other businesses and industries).
Some commercials also are not shown in Mega Manila Area. Like in Cebu, Davao, Zamboanga areas, ABS-CBN has local Ads also like Popular Feeds, Catering Services, Spa, Bars and etc. guys and gals, there some things we don't know in other places. ABS-CBN and GMA-7 has local programs in regional areas.
