Josh Groban Tackles TV Theme Songs
The pop singer will perform a TV-tunes medley at the Emmys
By Rick Porter
If you're a fan of Josh Groban and a fan of TV theme songs, then you may want to tune into the Emmy Awards on Sept. 21.
The Grammy-winning lite-opera/pop singer will perform a medley of TV theme songs at the Emmys, which is airing on ABC this year. The awards, celebrating their 60th year, will feature several segments that look back at the industry's history, including clips of viewer-voted favorite moments and current stars reciting the medium's signature lines.
"In honor of the Emmy Awards' 60th anniversary, Josh's medley will touch on some of television's most resonant theme songs -- including from 'Friends,' 'The Simpsons,' 'The Brady Bunch' and many more," executive producer Ken Ehrlich says. "The actual full list of show titles is being kept a secret until the show. This will truly be an unforgettable performance."
We'll be especially curious to see Groban put his spin on the wordless "Simpsons" theme.
Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Jeff Probst, Howie Mandel and Ryan Seacrest -- the five nominees in the new category of outstanding reality-show host -- will host the awards. Among those presenting awards are current and future "CSI" stars William Petersen and Laurence Fishburne, Conan O'Brien, Kate Walsh, Kathy Griffin and Don Rickles, America Ferrera, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Hugh Laurie.
