The top ten acts on "America's Got Talent" carried NBC to a ratings victory on Wednesday.
NBC earned a 6.6 rating/11 share in primetime, wining the night by about 3 million viewers. CBS finished second in households at 4.8/8, but FOX, 4.5/7, had more viewers (7.17 million vs. 7.07 million for CBS). ABC was fourth at 3.0/5, and The CW trailed with a 2.2/4.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, NBC's 2.7 rating beat out FOX's 2.5 for the lead. CBS finished third at 1.9, followed by The CW, 1.6, and ABC, 1.3.
"America's Got Talent" scored a 7.0/12 for NBC at 8 p.m. FOX's "Bones" took second overall at 6.1/10 and won the hour among adults 18-49. CBS was a distant third with a pair of "Old Christine" reruns, 3.1/5. "America's Next Top Model," 2.9/5, snagged fourth for The CW, edging a "Wife Swap" rerun on ABC.
The second hour of "America's Got Talent" improved to 8.0/13. CBS moved up to second with "Criminal Minds," 5.8/9. "'Til Death," 3.2/5, and "Do Not Disturb," 2.6/4, put FOX slightly ahead of ABC, which reran a "20/20" special on Britain's royal family. The CW aired an encore of Tuesday's "90210."
At 10 p.m., a "CSI: NY" repeat posted a 5.5/9 for CBS. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" drew a 4.9/8 for NBC, and ABC's "20/20" special finished with a 3.3/6.
