Fast National ratings for Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 (USA)
Two hours of "Dancing with the Stars" dominated Monday's ratings, while several new series suffered second-week declines.
ABC easily won the night with an 11.1 rating/17 share. CBS finished second at 7.6/12, followed by NBC at 5.8/9. FOX, 4.2/6, was fourth and The CW trailed at 1.8/3.
The adults 18-49 demographic also went ABC's way, though buy a smaller margin. The Alphabet earned a 4.7 rating in the demo, while CBS and NBC tied for second at 4.0. FOX averaged 2.5 and The CW 1.1.
"Dancing with the Stars" earned a 12.7/20 for ABC at 8 p.m. CBS came in second with "How I Met Your Mother," 5.1/8, and "The Big Bang Theory," 5.5/8. NBC's "Chuck," 5.1/8, took third (both it and "Big Bang" lost about a million viewers from their premieres last week). "Prison Break" put FOX in fourth place. The CW aired the premieres of "Everybody Hates Chris," 1.7/3, and "Aliens in America," 1.6/2.
At 9 p.m., "Dancing" improved to a 13.8/20, the night's best hourly rating. CBS held onto second with "Two and a Half Men," 8.4/12, and "Rules of Engagement," 6.6/10. NBC's "Heroes" was not far behind in third (it was also the night's top show among adults 18-49). "K-Ville" scored a 3.7/5 for FOX, while the season premieres of "Girlfriends" and "The Game" averaged 1.8/3 for The CW.
"CSI: Miami," 9.9/16, ruled the 10 p.m. hour for CBS. "The Bachelor" posted a 6.8/11 for ABC, topping the 5.2/9 for "Journeyman" on NBC.
