Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 (USA)
A close race for Tuesday's ratings title ended with FOX at the top of the pile, while ABC's new comedies fell off from their premieres.
FOX averaged an 8.0 rating/13 share for the night, beating out CBS, 7.8/13, and ABC, 7.6/12, for the lead. NBC came in fourth with a 5.7/9, and The CW trailed at 2.0/3.
The adults 18-49 race wasn't as close, with FOX's 5.2 rating winning by a fairly sizable margin. NBC finished second in the demographic with a 3.3, edging ABC's 3.2. CBS averaged 2.9 and The CW 1.4.
"NCIS," 10.3/17, dominated the 8 p.m. hour for CBS. FOX's "Bones" finished a distant second at 5.4/9. ABC's "Cavemen," 4.5/8, and "Carpoolers," 4.9/8, each lost about 2 million viewers from their premieres last week. "The Singing Bee" and "The Biggest Loser" captured fourth place for NBC, beating out "Beauty and the Geek," 2.1/3, on The CW.
FOX led at 9 p.m. as "House," 10.7/16, snagged the night's biggest audience. The "Dancing with the Stars" results show earned a 10.6/16 for ABC. CBS dropped to third with "The Unit," 7.0/11. "The Biggest Loser" scored a 4.6/7 for NBC. The CW was fifth with "Reaper."
"Law & Order: SVU" scored an 8.4/14 to win the 10 p.m. hour for NBC. "Boston Legal," 7.5/13, finished second for ABC, and "Cane" posted a 6.0/10 for CBS.
