Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 (USA).
Two hours of "Deal or No Deal" boosted NBC to an overall ratings win Wednesday, while ABC held sway among younger viewers.
NBC averaged a 6.5 rating/11 share in primetime to take the top spot. ABC and CBS tied for second at 5.8/9, with CBS holding a very slim lead (60,000 people) in total viewers. FOX's 3.5/5 was good for fourth, and The CW trailed with a 2.3/4.
ABC topped the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.2 rating, the only network to crack the 3.0 barrier on the night. NBC finished second at 2.7. CBS, 2.4, was third, followed by FOX, 2.2, and The CW, 1.7.
"Deal or No Deal" host Howie Mandel
Hour one of "Deal or No Deal" earned a 6.9/11 for NBC at 8 p.m. "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" delivered a 5.5/9 for ABC, topping the 4.5/7 for "Kid Nation" on CBS. Reruns of "Back to You" and "'Til Death" put FOX in fourth, a little ahead of the 2.9/5 for "America's Next Top Model" on The CW.
NBC stayed on top at 9 p.m. with more "Deal," which rose to 7.7/12. "Private Practice" drew a 7.0/11 for ABC (and was the night's top show among adults 18-49). A "Criminal Minds" rerun kept CBS in third. "Kitchen Nightmares" scored a 3.4/5 for FOX, while "Gossip Girl" came in at 1.7/3 for The CW.
At 10 p.m., a "CSI: NY" repeat, 6.9/12, easily won the hour for CBS. NBC's "Life" and ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money" each posted a 5.0/8, with NBC grabbing more total viewers.
