"American Idol" finally got its Beatles night Tuesday, and FOX got another big ratings win.
FOX dominated the night with a 16.7 rating/26 share, drawing more viewers than the combined total of the other networks. NBC finished a distant second at 5.4/9, beating CBS' 4.5/7. ABC, 3.8/6, came in fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.6/2.
FOX also ruled the adults 18-49 demographic with a 10.8 rating. NBC's 3.0 was the best of the rest. ABC and CBS tied for third at 1.8, and The CW drew a 1.0.
The first hour of "American Idol" drew a 15.6/25 at 8 p.m. An "NCIS" repeat, 5.8/9, put CBS in second. "The Biggest Loser" psoted a 4.7/7 for NBC. ABC's "Just for Laughs" was fourth, while the premiere of "Beauty and the Geek's" latest cycle managed only a 1.3/2 for The CW.
"American Idol" improved to 17.8/27 at 9 p.m., drawing more than 31 million viewers for the hour. "The Biggest Loser" ticked up to 5.2/8 to move NBC into second, ahead of "Big Brother" on CBS. An hour of "According to Jim" averaged 3.2/5 for ABC. The CW got a 1.8/3 from "One Tree Hill."
With FOX done for the night, NBC and "Law & Order: SVU," 6.4/11, claimed the top spot at 10 p.m. "Primetime" scored a 5.1/8 for ABC, beating the 3.8/6 for "Jericho" on CBS.
