Family meetings

MIAMI – Just days after winning the World Heavyweight Championship, Undertaker was thrust into action against his brother – the new ECW Champion, Kane. SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero made the match and later levied that if either champion failed to compete, they would be stripped of their title.
The Phenom and the Big Red Monster competed one-on-one, rekindling their sibling rivalry for the first time with both wearing major championship gold. The hard-fought in-ring battle was reminiscent of the wars waged between Undertaker and Kane over the years – until their familiarity with each other left them prey for the Rated-R entourage.

After leveling each other in the center of the ring, the prone Kane and Undertaker were attacked by Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder. The former World Heavyweight and ECW champions were looking to send a clear message to the men they will challenge at Backlash: We want our gold back. But the Brothers of Destruction fought back, delivering in stereo chokeslams and Tombstones to Edge & Guerrero.
The thwarted attack served notice to any Superstar who would challenge either champion – that both ECW Champion Kane and World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker are at the top of their game and don’t plan on giving up the gold any time soon. The failed assault also quieted the cocky Edge and Chavo, who both earlier in the night had vowed to Vickie Guerrero to win back their titles and restore glory to “la familia Guerrero.”
On SmackDown, however, the Rated-R Superstar and the “Mexican Warrior” learned the hard way that their dreams to regain what they believe to be their respective championships will have to go through hellfire – and those fires have never been hotter than they are now with Undertaker and Kane holding firmly on to their gold.
