If there are 10 households then, GMA gets 6 out of 10 TV Households and the remaining 4 goes to ABS-CBN. Households may have 2 or more persons.
BREAKDOWN: Example only!
GMA led primetime and got an average of 25.0 household rating followed by ABS-CBN at 24.0 but ABS-CBN "had more total viewers."
Questions:
1.) How did it happen?
2.) Why did ABS-CBN got more viewers than GMA-7?
Answers:
1.) GMA had more households but we don't know about how many viewers are watching GMA.
2.) Because AGB Nielsen doesn't do much survey when it comes to individuals.

So GMA gets 10,000,000 households.
But let us say for every GMA Household there are 3 persons.

cguradong cgurado kang may ginawa ang gma? ang galing naman ng gma at hindi mabuking ng abs un. kung ung pagiging #1 ng gma sa mega manila inireklamo ng abs na hindi dapat ibinobroadcast eh un pa kayang may gagawing kalokohan ang gma para maging #1 sila sa mega manila? bat ba ndi nio matanggap na hindi kaya ng abs na i-please ang mga taga mega manila? masydo kaung nagiging bulag sa mga nangyayari!
aside from that, regarding dun sa post tungkol sa tv sets versus individual viewers. if that would be the case, then it is also possible for gma to be ahead of abs-cbn when it comes to the nationwide ratings. we may never know, if that would be the case! we can never have an accurate conclusion who among gma and abs-cbn is the #1 in the country when it comes to ratings for now, but only through the basis of the agb-nielsen which is the tv signals of both stations.
for me, kaya siguro nag number one ang gma kasi aminin na natin na mas maganda ang reception nila kung antenna ang gamit..and by the looks of it mukhang maraming wlang cable sa mahihirap na places sa manila, kaya no choice sila kungdi panoorin ang gma 7 shows..pero if u will look at it, u can see na mas maganda ang mga plots and story lines ng mga shows sa abs cbn..kaya siguro for me in terms of entertainment quality abscbn is better than gma...
