Sunday's ratings continued the summertime trend of being not all that impressive, with CBS and NBC each scoring a share of the title.
CBS led overall with a 5.2 rating/9 share. NBC took second with a 4.1/7, topping ABC's 3.0/5. FOX, 2.4/4, came in fourth, and The CW registered a negligible 0.6/1.
NBC won the adults 18-49 demographic with a 1.9 rating. ABC's 1.6 was good for second, followed by FOX, 1.5, and CBS, 1.4. The CW was barely there at 0.3.
CBS began the night on top with "60 Minutes," the night's most-watched show at 6.3/13. An "America's Funniest Home Videos" rerun (2.9/6) put ABC in second, just ahead of NBC's coverage of the U.S. Olympic swimming trials. FOX got a 1.9/4 with the movie "The Lost World: Jurassic Park." A "One Tree Hill" rerun aired on The CW.
"Million Dollar Password," 5.6/10, kept CBS on top at 8 p.m. The Olympic trials improved to 3.9/7, moving NBC ahead of ABC and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," 3.0/5. FOX's movie stayed in fourth, while "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Aliens in America" averaged 0.6/1 for The CW.
At 9 p.m., a repeat of "Cold Case" (4.5/8) narrowly beat "Dateline NBC" (4.3/7) for the lead. "EM: Home Edition" drew a 4.0/7 in its second hour. "The Lost World" concluded with a 2.9/5 for FOX. The CW held steady with "The Game" and "Girlfriends."
"Dateline" rose to 5.3/9 at 10 p.m. to give NBC the top spot. A second "Cold Case" posted a 4.3/8 for CBS, and "Desperate Housewives" came in at 2.1/4 for ABC.
