More Solid Ratings for NBA Finals
ABC wins night again, FOX competes in demo
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, June 10, 2008
The NBA Finals got a little more interesting as the Los Angeles Lakers won Tuesday night, and ABC continued to reap improved ratings from the games.
ABC and CBS each averaged a 6.3 rating/11 share among households in primetime, but ABC led among total viewers (9.93 million to 9.14 million) -- and its numbers will likely go up in the final nationals. FOX took third with a 4.7/8. NBC, 4.0/7, was fourth, and The CW earned a 1.1/2 for fifth.
The adults 18-49 crown belonged solely to ABC, which drew a 4.0 rating in the demographic. FOX's 3.3 was good for second. CBS, 1.9, edged NBC, 1.8, for third, and The CW trailed with a 0.5.
CBS led at 8 p.m. with "NCIS," 6.8/12. ABC averaged 5.4/10 with "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and the NBA pregame show. FOX's "Moment of Truth," 3.9/7, barely beat NBC's "Most Outrageous Moments." The CW aired a "Beauty and the Geek" rerun.
Game 3 of the NBA Finals, 6.7/11, moved ABC into the lead at 9 p.m. CBS finished second with "48 Hours Mystery," 6.4/11. FOX's "Hell's Kitchen" (5.5/9) was third overall but beat both CBS and tied ABC in the 18-49 demo. A "Law & Order: SVU" rerun kept NBC in fourth. "Reaper" drew a 1.2/2 for The CW.
The Finals game improved to 7.0/12 at 10 p.m. CBS' "Without a Trace," 5.7/10, stayed in front of NBC and a second hour of "SVU," 4.2/7.
