NBA Finals continues ratings winning streak
Fast National ratings for Thursday, June 12, 2008
Early prime-time ratings for Game 4 of the NBA Finals are off slightly from previous games, but ABC still grabbed Thursday's Nielsen crown.
ABC and CBS tied for the household lead on the night, each drawing a 6.0 rating/11 share. ABC, however, had more total viewers (9.3 million to 8.7 million for CBS), and its numbers are likely to rise in final nationals as what looked like a blowout early on became a record-setting comeback. FOX, 4.4/8, came in third. NBC's 2.9/5 was good for fourth, and The CW trailed at 1.2/2.
ABC easily won the adults 18-49 race with a 3.7 rating. FOX took second with a 2.3, edging CBS' 2.2. NBC averaged 1.5 and The CW 0.7.
"Million Dollar Password," 6.4/12, put CBS on top at 8 p.m. ABC's combination of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and NBA pre-game show averaged 5.0/9. "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" returned to FOX with a 3.9/7, beating out a "My Name Is Earl" rerun and "Last Comic Standing" on NBC. A "Smallville" repeat on The CW earned a 1.3/2.
A "CSI" rerun, 6.5/11, captured the overall lead for CBS at 9 p.m. Game 4 of the NBA Finals scored a 6.1/10 for ABC (and led the hour among adults 18-49). "So You Think You Can Dance" posted a 5.0/8 for FOX. "Last Comic Standing," 3.0/5, kept NBC in fourth, ahead of "Supernatural" on The CW.
ABC took over at 10 p.m. as the Boston Celtics-Los Angeles Lakers game improved to 7.0/12. "Swingtown," 5.2/9, fell off a little from its premiere on CBS last week but still finished well ahead of NBC's "Fear Itself," 3.2/6.
