NBC and CBS dueled it out with mirror-image game show-and-crime drama lineups Wednesday night, with the Peacock coming out ahead by a slim margin.
NBC averaged a 7.4 rating/12 share for the night, with CBS not far behind at 6.8/11. ABC finished third with a 5.1/8. FOX managed only a 2.5/4, but that was still good enough to beat The CW's 1.5/2.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, NBC led with a 3.1 rating. ABC and CBS tied for second at 3.0. FOX averaged 1.4 and The CW 0.9.
Howie Mandel, host of "Deal or No Deal"
"Deal or No Deal," 8.3/13, easily won the 8 p.m. hour for NBC. "Wife Swap," 5.0/8, put ABC in second, ahead of "Power of 10," 4.0/6, on CBS. A pair of "Back to You" reruns drew a 2.7/4 for FOX. The CW trailed with "Crowned."
CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with "Criminal Minds," the night's most-watched show at 9.2/14. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" scored a 6.4/10 for NBC. "Supernanny," 5.8/9, kept ABC in third. FOX went with two episodes of "'Til Death," and "Gossip Girl" delivered a 1.7/3 for The CW.
At 10 p.m., NBC's "Law & Order" led in households with a 7.5/13, but CBS' "CSI:NY" (7.3/12) had more viewers and a better 18-49 rating. ABC's "Cashmere Mafia" scuffled in its new timeslot, earning a 4.3/7.
