TV Ratings (May 2-4): Gabby Concepcion's "MMK" episode made waves

Many Filipinos are still interested to see Gabby Concepcion act on screen. This was proven by the 17.4 percent rating of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) last Friday, May 2. This was Gabby's first acting assignment after more than 13 years.
The said figure propelled MMK to No. 8 in the primetime race last Friday, which was topped by Dyesebel with 37.8 percent. The fantaserye was followed by other Kapuso shows in the Top 5: Joaquin Bordado, Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita, 24 Oras, and The Legend.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN programs TV Patrol World and The Singing Bee tied at No. 6 with identical 20.2 percent rating. Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus took the seventh place while Lobo and Maligno completed the Top 10.
In the daytime race, the Dramarama Sa Hapon trio of GMA-7—Daisy Siete, Maging Akin Ka Lamang, and Kaputol ng Isang Awit—were the top three programs. The noontime show Eat Bulaga! came in fourth followed by Pilipinas, Game KNB? at No. 5.
Eat Bulaga! was the runaway No. 1 daytime program last Saturday (May 3) with 23.7 percent; followed by Wish Ko Lang with 21.6 percent. Wowowee grabbed the third spot while Takeshi's Castle and Cinema FPJ completed the Top 5.
Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho topped the primetime race with 30.7 percent as Bitoy's Funniest Videos and Pinoy Idol took the second and third spots, respectively.
Mike Enriquez's Imbestigador was No. 4 while the Kapamilya superhero series Kapitan Boom placed fifth.
A recap of Dyesebel's pilot week was the most-watched daytime program Sunday (May 4). Dyesebel: Ang Simula got 25.2 percent, closely followed by a rerun of Enteng Kabisote 2: The Legend Continues with 23.2 percent.
The boxing match of Oscar de la Hoya and Steve Forbes in ABS-CBN drew 15.2 percent to take the fifth place. Showbiz Central was No. 4 with 15.6 percent while The Buzz was No. 8 with 9.6 percent.
In the battle of musical variety shows, SOP got 14.3 percent while ASAP ‘08 got 10.2 percent.
