A bigger-than-usual night for "Dancing with the Stars" led ABC to a big ratings win Monday.
ABC scored an 11.8 rating/18 share for the night, beating CBS, 8.0/12, by a sizable margin (more than 5 million viewers). NBC finished third at 5.0/8. FOX took fourth with a 3.8/6, and The CW trailed with a 1.4/2.
The results in the adults 18-49 demographic shook out the same way, with ABC's 5.0 rating on top. CBS took second with a 4.3, followed by NBC at 3.5. FOX averaged 2.0, and The CW failed to break the 1.0 barrier.
"Dancing with the Stars" ruled the 8 p.m. hour, drawing a 14.6/22 for ABC. CBS finished a distant second with "How I Met Your Mother," 5.4/8, and "The Big Bang Theory," 5.0/7. "Chuck" earned a 4.6/7 for NBC, beating a "House" rerun on FOX. "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Aliens in America" averaged 1.3/2 for The CW.
ABC stayed on top at 9 p.m. with the conclusion of "Dancing," 15.3/22, and "Samantha Who?," which hit a season high at 10.1/15. CBS held onto second with "Two and a Half Men," 8.8/13, and "Rules of Engagement," 7.5/11. "Heroes" posted a 6.6/10 for NBC. "K-Ville," 3.2/5, was fourth for FOX, while The CW improved slightly with "Girlfriends" and "The Game."
At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" scored a 10.6/17 for CBS. The finale of "The Bachelor" delivered an 8.1/13 for ABC, finishing well ahead of "Journeyman" (3.8/6) on NBC.
