Fast National ratings for Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 (USA)
Despite some consistent competition from NBC's family movie, CBS once again claimed ratings victory on Friday.
The Eye earned a 5.8 rating/10 share in primetime, followed by NBC and ABC tied for second in households at 4.4/8 apiece. The CW's 2.8/5 nabbed was good for fourth, beating FOX's 2.1/4.
CBS did similarly well in the adults 18-49 demographic, grabbing a 2.5 rating for the lead. NBC took second place with a 2.2, while ABC and The CW tied it up with 1.6 reach. FOX trailed with a 1.3.
Holiday audiences were feeling the love early on when "Ghost Whisperer," 6.3/11, took the lead at 8 p.m. NBC made a good showing this hour taking second for the beginning of the Nicolas Cage film "The Family Man," 4.1/7. ABC's "Men in Trees," 3.8/7 wasn't far behind. "WWE Friday Night SmackDown!" fared well for The CW with a 2.8/5, way ahead of FOX's dismal showing for "The Next Great American Band."
[Additional Info: The first hour of SmackDown! lured a 4.96 million viewers and a 1.6/5 A18-49 demo rating]
"Women's Murder Club," 5.3/9, moved ABC in front at 9 p.m. CBS stayed in second with "Moonlight," 4.7/8, while NBC stayed steady with more Nic Cage shenanigans, 4.5/8. "SmackDown!," 2.8/5 on the CW could not be smacked down from fourth, although FOX's "Don't Forget the Lyrics" improved FOX's numbers considerably with a 2.5/4 for the hour.
[Additional Info: The second hour of SmackDown! managed 5.20 million viewers and a 1.7/5 A18-49 demographic rating. Too bad The CW’s schedule is not as solid on the rest of the week.]
[SmackDown! averaged 5.08 million viewers from 8-10 p.m. and a 1.6/5 in the demographic.]
In the 10 o'clock hour, "Numb3rs" easily led the hour with a 6.3/11. The final hour of "The Family Man," 4.8/9, gave NBC second place, while ABC's "20/20," 4.1/7 finished the evening in third.
