Fast National ratings for Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 (USA).
Paced, as usual, by the spooky procedural "Ghost Whisperer" and the mathematical procedural "Numb3rs," CBS won Friday night in all key measures.
Overall, CBS averaged a 6.0 rating/10 share, beating the 5.3/9 for ABC and NBC's 4.8/8. The CW was a distant fourth with a 2.9/5, nipping the 2.8/5 for FOX.
CBS also won among adults 18-49, doing a 2.7 rating in the all-important demographic. NBC's 1.9 rating was second, followed closely by ABC's 1.8 rating and the 1.6 and 1.5 ratings for FOX and The CW.
Jennifer Love Hewitt of "Ghost Whisperer"
"Ghost Whisperer" helped CBS start off in front, doing a 6.5/12 for the 8 p.m. hour. NBC's "Deal or No Deal" was second with a 6.1/11 and ABC's "Men in Trees" claimed third with a 4.4/8. The CW's "WWE Friday Night SmackDown!" was fourth, well ahead of the 1.8/3 for FOX's struggling "The Next Great American Band."
The only primetime hour not won by CBS was 9 p.m., as "Women's Murder Club" had a 6.5/11 to stay well ahead of the 5.1/9 for "Moonlight" on CBS. NBC's "Friday Night Lights" was down in third with a 3.7/6. FOX moved up to fourth with "Don't Forget the Lyrics!," while The CW's wrestling ("SmackDown!") was up to a 3.0/5 in its second hour.
CBS was back in the lead at 10 p.m. with the 6.6/12 for "Numb3rs." ABC's "20/20" held second, beating the 4.6/9 for NBC's "Las Vegas."
