WWE Puts the 'SmackDown' on MyNetworkTV
Show will make its new network debut in the fall
"WWE SmackDown!" may have left The CW, but it'll be back in the fall on another network.
The new, exclusive, prime-time broadcast home of "WWE SmackDown" is none other than MyNetworkTV, it was announced Tuesday, Feb. 26. It will make its debut in fall 2008, running weekly for two hours.
"We are excited to add MyNetworkTV and its television affiliates to our family of global network partners," said WWE Chairman of the Board Vincent K. McMahon. "We have an unmatched record of delivering ratings success to each and every network partner we've worked with in our long and storied history. We fully intend to bring that same level of success to MyNetworkTV."
"The momentum at MyNetworkTV continues with this major acquisition," added MyNetworkTV President Greg Meidel. "We have demonstrated tremendous growth and this partnership with WWE, the premier sports entertainment franchise in the world is a perfect fit for our viewers, advertisers and affiliates."
This all really means that WWE favorites like Rey Mysterio, Batista, Edge, MVP, Kane and Undertaker will be back to present unparalleled drama and action in and out of the ring.
MyNetworkTV also recently announced that it has ordered 13 episodes of the Flavor Flav-starring sitcom "Under One Roof," which is slated to premiere this spring.
