'Dancing With the Stars' relationship not going 'in the right direction'
A little over a month ago "Dancing With the Stars" sweethearts Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff assured the public they were still together after a rumor circulated that they had broken up. What a difference a month makes.
The "Dancing With the Stars" couple has officially called it quits this time, reports People."
Karina has parted ways with her two year relationship with Mario Lopez," says the pro dancer's spokesperson. " "The relationship wasn't heading in the right direction."
Lopez also confirmed the split with a statement of his own: "Karina and I have the utmost respect for each other. She is a phenomenal and talented woman. I support her always and feel blessed to have her in my life."
The couple first paired up on the show's third season, and after the competition ended, Smirnoff moved into Lopez's Los Angeles home.
In late April, rumors that Smirnoff was moving out circulated, but she had claimed that they were still "going strong."
Smirnoff most recently partnered with R&B singer Mario on the ABC dance show. Lopez has been starring in "A Chorus Line" on Broadway and hosts MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew," which starts live auditions on Saturday, June 7.
