NBC proved it had the talent on Tuesday night, winning the night among households with a 5.6 rating/10 share. CBS came in second with a 5.1/9, while ABC (4.4/8), FOX (2.4/4) and The CW (1.0/2) trailed behind.
Among 18 to 49-year-olds, a similar picture was painted. NBC ed with a 2.7 to CBS' 2.5, ABC's 2.1, FOX's 1.3 and The CW's 0.5.
NBC kicked off the night with a 90-minute "America's Got Talent." For the eight o'clock hour, it took a 6.1/11, tying for first place with the premiere of CBS' new game show "Power of 10," hosted by Drew Carey. ABC was in it "Just for Laughs" with a 4.2/7, while FOX's "On the Lot" (1.5/3) performed only marginally better than a "Gilmore Girls" repeat on The CW.
At 9 p.m., NBC secured first place for itself with the last third of "America's Got Talent" and a new episode of "The Singing Bee." ABC rose to second with "Primetime: Crime," 4.9/8, pushing CBS' "Big Brother 8" to third, 4.7/8. A repeat of "House" more than doubled FOX's first hour, with a 3.4/6, while The CW couldn't even muster a full rating point with a repeat of "Beauty & the Geek."
CBS shot back to the top at 10 p.m. with "NCIS," 4.6/8, while NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" and ABC's "i-Caught" tied for second.
